In captivity: Mother of the oceans - character art

Game ready character creation.
4th year honours project: In captivity: To investigate environmental issues in marine life, through 3D game character visual design, while exploring sculpting techniques, with the focus on eco-friendly 3D printing technology.

Project diary: https://agaraspberry.blogspot.com/

The character: Mother of the oceans, was created with elements that represent many species from under the sea. She became a prisoner of her own kingdom. The figure is a game ready character, which is also printed in eco-friendly resin. It is placed inside of a snow globe with microplastics floating around. It’s an art statement, which could motivate viewers to take an initiative in protecting the underwater life. Through my piece I want to highlight, that it’s important to be aware of the environmental situation and sustainability.

This was quite a large project and I took a challenge of creating both 3D game ready model and 3D printing. Perhaps if I focused just on the model I could resolve the issue of large topology around the corset area, however I have ran out of time. After all, I am quite proud of this piece of work, it is an art statement touching on important subject of sustainability. I learned a lot, especially more about 3D printing technique and types of materials utilized for it.
